Hi there! I'm Kasey Ostronic, a senior product (UX/UI) designer based in San Diego, California.

I currently lead design for a lodging app, shaping how users create and manage reservations end to end. My background spans government, hospitality, lifestyle & productivity software. No matter the industry, I aim to make technology approachable and enjoyable to use.

When I'm not designing, you'll find me outdoors exploring, getting cozy at a coffee shop, testing my luck at trivia night, or spending quality time with my partner Nik and our golden retriever Stella.

Years in marketing taught me how businesses think about value. Project management taught me how to ship. Product design is where those two finally came together.

My Journey

Marketing (2015 — 2019)

I started my career with a marketing degree and eagerness to learn it all! I ended up in digital advertising at an agency building campaigns across google + social for a variety of e-commerce and service clients. Although I enjoyed my experience, I was ready to look for a career that would give me more exposure and influence.

Project Management (2019 —2021)

I switched gears from marketing to project management at an economic development organization where I led a range of initiatives from large scale research projects to 1500+ attendee conferences aimed at attracting and retaining young talent in the area. I loved the fast paced and varied nature of the job centered on execution - but I was still looking for a role that would blend my love for creativity, analytics, research, & tech…

Product Design (2021 — Now)

During the pandemic, like many others, I was left with extra time for self-discovery and stumbled upon product & UX design. Instantly I knew it was the career I had been looking for as it was people-orientated, research-focused, and impactful. I completed a bootcamp, freelanced with startups and nonprofits, and finally landed a product design role at a software agency. 5 years later, I feel like I’m truly making impact and I’m excited to get to help others turn their ideas into a reality.
