Connecting fashion enthusiasts & professional stylists across apps
OVERVIEW
My team and I partnered with the Air Force to develop the Contingency Quarters Management Accountability Platform (CQMAP), a purpose-built digital solution that transforms housing data into a real-time asset. The platform integrates personnel accountability, lodging management, and resource tracking into a single system, enabling commanders to make faster, more informed decisions in both stable and disrupted environments.

Stylists want to focus on their strength: styling
UNDERSTAND
In order to ensure we were meeting user needs for the stylist portal, I met with current stylists to understand what the current stylist experience was like and how it could be improved with our app.
INTERVIEW findings• Stylists have a lot of tool options, but rarely do they have everything in one
• Managing non-fashion aspects of business is time consuming
• Hard to attract new customers without a strong marketing plan
• More stylists want to find ways to conduct services remotely

SKETCH
Ideating how stylists will market services and manage clients
With team agreement on direction and user journeys, I started designing mid-fi wireframes for our initial stylist portal focused on the stylist profile, services, client management & invoicing.
Stylist profile
Client managementPROTOTYPE & VALIDATE
Testing proved we were missing core capabilities that would hinder tool adoption
Based on prototype testing with stylists, we confirmed we were headed in the the right direction but there were areas we needed to expand in order to ensure it was a tool that could encompass the stylist’s full range of workflows from other tools.

Added “outfits” to past work

FINAL DESIGN
As I made changes from user testing, I also transitioned to high-fi wireframes and prepped screens for development handoff. At this stage, I also incorporated our new branding that better represented Donne’s personality.

CONCLUSION
Our stylist portal launched summer 2024 and we now feature 40+ stylists that have been busy providing services to Donne clients. This project reminded me of the need and value of feedback cycles especially when bringing a brand new tool to the market.
We’ll be continuing to make enhancements to the platform as we continue to work with stylists. If interested in becoming a Donne stylist, apply here.
